According to the data from the second Censis-Italgrob Report “Horeca Distribution and Out-of-Home Foodservice: a great opportunity for Italian revival”, the sector is lively and vibrant. There are 800 companies, over 60,000 employees, and a turnover of 17 billion euros. This adds up to a total value of the Horeca market in Italy, which is approximately 330,000 public establishments. The employment figures speak for themselves: 1.4 million people, about 6.1% of the Italian workforce, work in this sector. Our Horeca industry is a big boss that now faces a challenge. Yes, because consumers are demanding transparency and sustainability, with over 91% of people appreciating venues that communicate their ecofriendly practices and making their choices accordingly, as highlighted by the report. The spotlight is now on the sector to address the current big issue of making the “out-of-home” environment
